Molar Moment

Molar
17th Sept 2013
I have today had a molar out at the anaesthetist dentist in Bristol. This sodding tooth has been causing me problems for years. I have had it filled, root removed, refilled crowned, uncrowned, drilled  refilled on the crown and at last removed.!
I have been waiting about six weeks for the appointment after my dentist in Portishead looked desperately nervous about taking it out herself.
I am not normally nervous in the dentists, but if the person doing the job seems nervous then I feel I have the right to be a scaredy-cat!
It will be nice to save money on painkillers too.
It was actually quite a pleasant experience, I just get a small jab and then I am not asleep but I feel like I have had 8 pints of Guinness. There was no pain and I barely recall having it done at all.they are very mindful of making sure I survive the rest of the day and so I am currently wrapped up in my quilt on the sofa watching rubbish daytime TV!
This is a rare occasion indeed and I am considering putting a onesie on my Christmas list!
It is quite nice to be looked after, Michelle has been terrific by looking after me before going to work and making sure I am comfortable.she would make a great nurse.
On the point of dentists we made a decision a couple of years ago to go private in a new dentist surgery in Portishead, we thought we were being smart and we would get much better treatment and our teeth would last forever. Wrong.
All that happens is in our case we paid £14 per month each just to become a member which means instead of paying £240 for a filling it would be £220! How crazy were we. ?
This changed as a result of their suggestions on this recently departed molar.they were going to rebuild it again at a small cost of £2100! This was the discount cost as a member!!
Enough said and lesson learned.
