Local Photography Commission

March 25, 2014  •  Leave a Comment

I have been asked by a local building development company to provide some photographs of Portishead for brochures for new customers.

This is always a difficult task as it is important to generate excitement and interest in an area where I live. It is easy to overlook what is on your own doorstep and to take it for granted. I intend to take a complete new set of photographs for three reasons

  • Firstly because I want it to be authentic and original
  • Secondly it is important for my own integrity to provide these photographs directly for the client and not dig through my old images.
  • And thirdly, because it makes sure that I stay on the top of my game and I can always find new angles and new locations.

I have my brief, which is very important so that I can start to look at particular areas and put on the glasses, as it were, of the customer that will be visiting the clients website. It is not just a case of picking a nice day either as it makes a huge difference within the local area as to what people are wearing, the foliage, and the activities that are going to be visible.

The deadline is not until mid May so I can afford to wait a month for all the leaves to develop and people to take off their thick woolly coats and Wellington boots!
